The State of Ohio employs many nurses with a high demand for the profession and a rising average annual salary. There’s never been a better time to be a nurse. A Licensed Nurse (LN) has graduated from high school or received their GED (General Educational Development Test), taken some undergraduate courses, and completed at least a one-year diploma program. Many nursing students choose to continue their education by completing a two-year associate’s degree program (ADN) or a four-year bachelor’s degree program (BSN) to become a Registered Nurse (RN). Whether an LN or an RN, nurses must also apply for their nursing license or certificate through the Ohio Board of Nursing.
Our Licensed Nurses at Empowering People care for individuals with disabilities on a holistic level, which includes their physical, emotional, mental, and medical wellbeing. Many of our LN positions are needed to fill around-the-clock shifts in our Intermediate Care Facilities (ICFs), which provide 24/7 nursing support in a home-like environment. Applying a compassionate, person-centered approach to their care, our nurses typically provide nursing assessments, medication administration, respite services, and emotional support to individuals in our Intermediate Care Facilities. Our success as an organization is dependent on everyone on our team abiding by these core values:
- Making a difference to the people we serve.
- Making a difference to our employees.
- Making a difference to our community.
What we do at Empowering People is more than just a job. It’s a calling!
